Residential and Commercial Solar Program Updates:
1) You may optionally provide your PV system monitoring login information to allow Energy Efficiency Alberta to access your data and help them evaluate performance of the RCSP program.
2) If you are planning to install 50% more in solar panels capacity (i.e. DC wattage) of what your inverter is rated for, EEA will ask for a written rationale to be submitted to them.
3) The design factor has been removed from the application as it is automatically calculated per the specified system details.
4) EEA has updated a couple of program documents:
– RCSP Terms and Conditions (Previously titled “RCSP Guidebook”)
– Incentive Confirmation and Claim Form
5) Solar PV systems must now be designed to produce at least 70% yield of a system with optimal azimuth and tilt at your location vs. 75% previously.
6) If you are looking to add more panels, i.e. expand your existing system, you may do so, however, only the expansion portion of the system is eligible for the RCSP solar rebates. Furthermore, all combined RCSP incentives may not exceed $10,000 per Site ID for residential systems and $500,000 per Site ID for commercial and non-profit applicants.
7) The system is considered “New” as long as you received an interconnection approval from the wire service provider and signed it no earlier than one year prior to the RCSP Part 1 application submission date, AND all components are new and have not been used in an energized solar array at any point in the past.
