Alberta Solar Incentives are increasing!

As per Energy Efficiency Alberta’s press release from today, solar incentives under the Alberta’s Residential and Commercial Program have been increased!

If you are looking to install solar panels for your home or business, you can expect the following solar rebates:

1) Incentives for residential solar systems will now be $0.90 per watt, increased from $0.75.

2) Businesses will continue to receive $0.75 per watt; however, the maximum payable incentive amount has increased to $1 million, up from $500,000 (to a maximum of 35% of project costs, increased from 25%).

3) Non-profit and charitable organizations will receive an increased incentive of $1.00 per watt, up from $0.75; to a maximum of 35% of total project cost or $1 million.

4) All applications currently submitted to the program (submitted Part 1) will receive the new, higher incentives.

5) To recognize their important “early adopter” role, all residential participants enrolled since the start of the program (April 2017) will receive a $400 bonus rebate towards any eligible energy-efficiency upgrade in the recently launched Home Energy Plan program.
